We stayed at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel in TST. Unfortunately, it was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. Please stay far, far away from this hotel. We booked a “premium” room through Agoda, but received a run-down space that makes a Motel 6 look like luxury accommodations. The hotel was undergoing renovations at the time, but our room clearly had not been upgraded yet. The construction noise was unbearable. However, we learned a valuable lesson. ALWAYS contact your hotel and ask about scheduled renovations before you book. Not only was the hotel of poor quality, it was inconveniently located. It was an 11-minute walk from the hotel to East TST Station. However, you will likely never use the West (purple) line. Instead, you will have to walk another ten minutes to reach TST Station. This hotel likely ruined my experience in Hong Kong. Six of the longest nights of my life. Awful, awful, awful.
Like I mentioned in my “Tips and Tricks” section, I recommend staying in Central. The restaurant and art scene here is far more superior to TST. TST is also dominated by tourists, whereas Central is an eclectic mix of locals and tourists. If you stay near the Central or Admiralty stations, you will have easy access to anything on the Island (blue) line or Tsuen Wan (red) line.
